A book from the last DiGRA conference (DiGRA2005) was just published.
Worlds in Play: International Perspectives on Digital Games Research, Edited by Suzanne de Castell and Jennifer Jenson.
Our theme “Situated Play” was started from this “Worlds in Play”.
After the paper review
May 20, 2007
DiGRA2007 had targeted about 50 papers in CFP, however, over 100 papers were accepted. Then our reservation and budget figure are renewed.
- Proceedings will be in two volumes.
- Four or five parallel sessions will be required.
and the panel review (another blind-peer-review process) is still ongoing.
Issue Tracking System started.
May 5, 2007
As DiGRA2007 has so many pending issues, we sometimes lost the questions. So we built the issue tracker system.
Who is the session chair?
May 4, 2007
There are some session proposals from advisory boards. Program staffs are waiting for detailed proposal (who is the chair person, who proposed the idea, how long the session is, and how many the conference room required).
FY2007 start
April 1, 2007
Fiscal year in Japan starts in April and local organizing staff started many coordination and budget tasks.
We have held meetings with not only the travel agency or conference room dealers, but also governmental/industrial agencies.
We are now contacting to Japan Contents Festival, nicknamed ConFes (renamed later as Japan International Contents Festival: COFESTA), is announced to be held in this September and DiGRA2007 will be in partnership with the series of events as same as Tokyo Game Show.

It brings us more promotion chance, support resource, and new program decision.
Conference room location
April 1, 2007
DiGRA2007 will be held in the University of Tokyo, finally. The University of Tokyo has the longest history in Japanese universities and new challenges in game study including establishing DiGRA JAPAN.
The problem of the University of Tokyo as conference place is that it’s far from major hotels. We will prepare the guide person at the nearest subway station.
